The 2015 Juried Show is now History 

Our 36th Annual Juried Exhibition closed on November 13, 2015, at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center gallery in Carlisle, PA.  This very successful exhibition began with 480 entries of which 120 were selected for the exhibition.  One artist did not deliver their painting and three paintings were declared ineligible because they had been shown previously in other juried exhibitions, so the final total hung was 116.  Luke Buck, Juror of Awards, selected 46 paintings for over $14,000 in prize money and merchandise awards.

 Entries in the exhibition came from 34 states and 7 foreign countries.  65% of the entries were from PWS members and 40% were from Pennsylvania.  If you were selected for the exhibition, you had a 37% chance of receiving an award.  67.5% of the entries selected for the exhibition were from PWS members!

 This year’s exhibition set a record of sorts with 8 sold paintings for a combined total of $8,900.  The earned commission of $3,115 will be shared equally with our exhibition host, Carlisle Arts Learning Center.

 The People’s Choice Award is an award selected by visitors to the exhibition who choose their favorite painting and submit their vote for it.  This is always a very popular and prestigious award and this year’s voting was no exception.  Hundreds of votes were cast and the ballots were counted on Saturday, November 14, 2015.  There were several leading contenders as the votes were tallied and re-checked, but the final winner, by a small margin, goes to Pam Wenger of Dillsburg, PA, for her painting, “Coffee with Gwen”.  An exciting little side note is that Pam’s painting was the first one sold this year at the Opening Reception!  Congratulations!

 Congratulations to all the artists who participated in our 36th Juried Exhibition, all the award winners, and all artists who sold paintings at the exhibition!
