The 2017 Juried Show

The Pennsylvania Watercolor Society’s 38th Juried Exhibition officially began with a gala Opening Reception on Saturday, September 16, 2017.  Beautiful weather combined with an exciting display of watercolor artwork prompted several hundred attendees to congregate at the Adams County Arts Council in Gettysburg, PA, for the opening.  The group was welcomed by PWS President, Karen Frattali, and ACAC Executive Director, Chris Glatfelter. 

Those in attendance enjoyed refreshments as they perused the 98 painting in the exhibit and looked for the award winner tags displayed by certain paintings.  At three o’clock awards between $1,500 and $100 were presented to 46 artists, many of whom were in attendance.  Along with the exhibition awards, several PWS members received their Signature Status pins and certificates.  Sylvan Grouse Guild awards were also presented to 4 PWS members. 

Many positive comments were heard regarding the quality and comprehensiveness of the exhibition.  Next year’s exhibition will be held in Warren, PA, September 15 through October 20, 2018! .
